OFWs Tapped to Sell Pinoy Organic Brand

An Englishman, who helped found one of the Philippines’ first organic and healthcare brands for beatuy and healthcare products, is tapping overseas Filipino workers to sell the products to the world.

“It's time to look at our OFWs in a different way,” said Dylan Wilk of Human Heart Nature, an enterprise set up by Gawad Kalinga volunteers, during the launching of their Mandaue City, Cebu outlet on Saturday.

Wilk, who is from the United Kingdom, is married to Anna Meloto, daughter of GK founder Tony Meloto.

“We have always seen OFWs as people sending us money from abroad. Now, I think we would see them as people, who would make Filipino products known to the world,” said Wilk.

He and his wife founded Human Heart Nature two years ago.

The organic line has enetered the US market through OFWs.

“We now have presence in North and South California, Florida, Seattle, New Jersey and Minneapolis. We are optimistic that we can grow double our presence within the year,” said Wilk. Fillipinos are the second largest ethnic group in America.

Human Heart Nature entered the U.S. market in November last year and will be shipping out a million pesos worth of products.

Aside from U.S., Wilk said that they will be entering Japan soon also with the help of a Filipino based there, followed by Singapore and Europe.

Wilk said there are 10,000 dealers in the Philippines with Cebu as one of the major areas of distribution.
